RTX 5060 vs Arc B580 vs RX 9060 XT 8GB: Best Budget Gaming GPU
RTX 5060 vs Arc B580 vs RX 9060 XT 8GB: 2026 benchmarks at 1080p and 1440p, VRAM limits, power draw, drivers and US and India prices for budget builders.
If you are choosing between the RTX 5060 vs Arc B580 vs RX 9060 XT 8GB for a 1080p gaming PC, my pick in September 2026 is the Radeon RX 9060 XT 8GB. It matches the GeForce RTX 5060 for speed in independent tests and costs about $90 less in the US. The Intel Arc B580 is the cheapest of the three and has the most memory, but it is around 20% slower and comes with more caveats.
The RTX 5060 is a good card that has simply become too expensive. At roughly $450 it now costs the same as a 16GB Radeon RX 9060 XT, which is a much better buy at that price.

Quick Verdict
- Buy the RX 9060 XT 8GB if you want the most 1080p performance for the least money and are fine lowering a texture setting now and then.
- Buy the Arc B580 if your budget is fixed near $300, you want 12GB of VRAM, and your PC has a reasonably modern processor.
- Buy the RTX 5060 if you need DLSS or Nvidia-only software, and you find it close to $370 instead of $450.

RTX 5060 vs RX 9060 XT 8GB: 1080p Gaming Performance
This is the resolution all three cards are made for, and two of them are tied.
TechPowerUp (25 games, maximum settings, no upscaling, retested May 2026):
| Test | RTX 5060 | Arc B580 | RX 9060 XT 8GB |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1080p average | 91.1 FPS | 72.2 FPS | 89.4 FPS |
| 1080p minimum FPS | 76.1 FPS | 60.9 FPS | 74.9 FPS |
| 1440p average | 64.9 FPS | 53.6 FPS | 63.6 FPS |
| 1440p minimum FPS | 55.4 FPS | 46.2 FPS | 54.1 FPS |
Minimum FPS is what you feel as stutter, because it captures the worst moments. All three stay at or above 60 FPS there at 1080p with settings maxed, which is the basic target for smooth play.
On TechPowerUp’s numbers, RTX 5060 vs Arc B580 is a 26% gap in the GeForce’s favour at 1080p, and the RTX 5060 is 2% faster than the RX 9060 XT 8GB.
Tom’s Hardware’s June 2026 hierarchy (11 rasterized games, meaning standard rendering without ray tracing) flips the top two. It has the RX 9060 XT 8GB at 93.2 FPS, the RTX 5060 at 88.5 FPS and the Arc B580 at 71.5 FPS. Tom’s describes the RTX 5060 as 24% faster than the B580 and the Radeon as 30% faster.
TechSpot’s launch review, on older drivers and a different game list, had the RTX 5060 just 6% ahead of the Arc B580. So the size of Intel’s deficit depends a lot on which games you play.
Winner: Tie between the RTX 5060 and RX 9060 XT 8GB. The Arc B580 is a clear third.
1440p Performance and VRAM: 8GB vs 12GB
VRAM is the memory on the card, and mostly it holds textures. It is the reason the Arc B580 is in this comparison at all.
At 1440p the B580 closes the gap a little. TechPowerUp has the RTX 5060 21% ahead instead of 26%, and at 4K the three cards are within a few frames of each other because the 8GB cards start running out of memory. Tom’s Hardware’s 4K numbers make it plain: 27.6 FPS for the Arc B580, 21.8 FPS for the RTX 5060.
TechSpot tested 19 recent games at 1080p with ultra settings and found most of them used more than 8GB. Only six did not. On an 8GB card that means turning textures down a notch in the newest titles.
The reviewers disagree on how much this should worry you. TechSpot said in its 2025 Arc B570 review that 12GB should be the minimum for a new card. TechPowerUp’s reviewer says 8GB is still sufficient for virtually all games at 1080p and 1440p if you are willing to tweak settings. Tom’s Hardware does not think the B580’s extra memory is worth its large speed deficit.
One more detail from Tom’s Hardware: frame generation often fails to work on 8GB GeForce cards when memory is already full, because the feature needs some VRAM of its own.
Winner: Arc B580 on memory. It is the only card here that will not make you think about texture settings.
Ray Tracing and Upscaling
Ray tracing models how light bounces around a scene. None of these cards handles it well, so treat it as a bonus.
Tom’s Hardware’s eight ray traced tests at 1080p put the RTX 5060 at 40.9 FPS, the Arc B580 at 34.9 FPS and the RX 9060 XT 8GB at 33.0 FPS. TechPowerUp’s lighter ray tracing index has the Radeon ahead of the GeForce instead, by about 4% at 1080p and more at higher resolutions.
Upscaling matters more at this level, because rendering at a lower resolution and letting AI rebuild a sharp image is how a budget card gets you extra frames. Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 is the best of the three and is in over 1,000 games according to Tom’s Hardware. AMD’s FSR 4 looks good but is in fewer titles. Intel’s XeSS is the least widely supported, and TechSpot notes some big releases ship without it.
Winner: RTX 5060, mainly because of DLSS.
Power Draw, Drivers and Day-to-Day Use
TechPowerUp measured gaming power at 135 W for the RTX 5060, 155 W for the RX 9060 XT 8GB and 165 to 185 W for the Arc B580, depending on the review. All three run from a single 8-pin plug on standard models and a modest power supply.
Idle power is where Intel stands out for the wrong reason: 34 W, against 9 W and 6 W. TechPowerUp explains that you can fix this, but only by turning on a power-saving setting called ASPM in your motherboard’s BIOS and changing a Windows power option.
Intel’s drivers are the other concern. Tom’s Hardware reports that a Fortnite settings problem on Arc cards took months to fix in 2026, and it no longer recommends Arc for gaming as a result. TechSpot found Arc cards lose more performance than rivals when paired with an older processor like the Ryzen 5 5600 in some games. Gamers Nexus could only reproduce that in a few cases, such as Baldur’s Gate 3 on a Ryzen 5 5600X.
The Radeon is not spotless either. Tom’s Hardware saw major performance problems in Grand Theft Auto V Enhanced on the RX 9070 XT during its 2026 retest, so AMD’s drivers have their own rough edges.
Winner: RTX 5060. It is the most efficient and the most predictable.
RTX 5060 vs Arc B580: Price and Value in 2026
Launch prices were $299 for the RTX 5060, $249 for the Arc B580 and $299 for the RX 9060 XT 8GB. A memory shortage has pushed all three up, and the GeForce most of all.
TechSpot’s late-August tracker found the cheapest in-stock cards in the US at about $450 for the RTX 5060 (51% over MSRP), $310 for the Arc B580 and $360 for the RX 9060 XT 8GB. A TechSpot review two weeks earlier put the Radeon nearer $400. Tom’s Hardware warned in June that Radeon 8GB supply had largely dried up, so stock may be patchy.
Using TechPowerUp’s 1080p averages and the late-August prices:
- RX 9060 XT 8GB: about $4.03 per frame
- Arc B580: about $4.29 per frame
- RTX 5060: about $4.94 per frame
The Radeon is both the cheapest per frame and nearly the fastest. TechSpot also points out the awkward fact that the RTX 5060 now costs about the same as the 16GB RX 9060 XT at $460.
In India, TechSpot listed the lowest prices at ₹48,000 for the RTX 5060 and ₹46,000 for the RX 9060 XT 8GB in late August, and could not find an Arc B580 in stock. On 30 September 2026, PC Studio and MD Computers had RTX 5060 cards from ₹53,900 and RX 9060 XT 8GB cards from ₹44,900. The Arc B580 was out of stock at PrimeABGB, so I would not plan an Indian build around it.
Winner: RX 9060 XT 8GB.
Which One Should You Buy?
1080p gamer on a budget: RX 9060 XT 8GB. RTX 5060 speed for less money.
Esports player (Fortnite, Valorant, Counter-Strike 2): RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT 8GB. These games do not need much VRAM, and I would avoid Arc here given the Fortnite issue.
Player of new big-budget games at high textures: Arc B580 for its 12GB, or better, save for the 16GB RX 9060 XT.
Upgrading an older PC with a Ryzen 5 5600-class CPU: RTX 5060 or RX 9060 XT 8GB. Arc cards can lose more performance on slower processors.
Student or first build: RX 9060 XT 8GB, and put the savings into a better power supply or SSD.
India buyer: RX 9060 XT 8GB. It is the cheapest of the three that you can reliably find.
What to Check Before You Buy
- RX 9060 XT 8GB vs 16GB. The names are almost identical. Make sure you are buying, and paying for, the one you mean.
- RTX 5060 vs RTX 5060 Ti. Different cards, different prices.
- Your motherboard’s age. TechSpot found 8GB cards lose extra performance on older PCIe 3.0 and 4.0 boards once they run out of VRAM.
- Arc B580 setup. Enable ASPM in the BIOS and adjust the Windows power plan to cut idle power, as TechPowerUp describes.
- Your processor. Pairing an Arc card with an older CPU can cost you frames in some games.
- Warranty and seller. Terms vary by brand and country. In India, buy from an authorised retailer with a GST invoice.
